For Doors and Sardines

As the last show of her time in undergrad at VCU comes to a close, Shinji is more than grateful for the cast, crew, and creative team of Michael Frayn's Noises Off, which was funded with a VCU Undergrad Research Grant and put up in Newdick Theatre. The directors- Sam Heller and Caroline Woodson- were researching how people use comedy to cope with adversity, and Shinji cannot be more proud to have been a part of their research. This play within a play has been a lesson in athleticism as well as acting, and though it left her exhausted every night, she'd do it again in a heartbeat. She thanks this show for sending her off into the world with a bang, for reconnecting her with old friends, and for showing her how comedy truly can help us through times of strife.

"If we can just get through the play once tonight for doors and sardines- that's what it's all about- doors and sardines" -Lloyd Dallas, Director of Nothing On
